Guinée – présidentielle : ira ou ira pas, d’Alpha Condé va situer l’opinion jeudi

Le RPG-Arc-en-ciel, parti au pouvoir en Guinée, tient son congrès national à Conakry. Prévu pour deux jours, cette rencontre va déboucher sur la désignation du candidat du parti pour la présidentielle d’octobre prochain.
Alpha Condé sera-t-il le candidat désigné à l’issue de ce congrès national ? Il y a peu de doutes sur l’éventualité que ce ne soit pas le président Guinéen qui emporte la faveur des congressistes. Avant même la tenue du congrès, le président du parlement Guinéen Amadou Damaro s’est voulu très clair sur la question.
« Dire que, est-ce que le président de la République sera candidat ou pas ? ça c’est la parole des journalistes. Je vous déclare ici, qu’il est candidat. Il est candidat. Lors du congrès du 05 au 06 Août on va l’investir comme candidat » a-t-il laissé entendre
Alpha Condé arrivé au pouvoir en 2010 puis réélu en 2015, n’a personnellement jamais dévoilé ses intentions de briguer un troisième mandat. La Constitution Guinéenne a connu une modification en mars dernier donnant du coup la possibilité pour le président, qui arrive au termes de son deuxième et dernier mandat, de prétendre à une nouvelle candidature selon des analystes.
L’opposition en Guinée ainsi que la société civile sont vent debout contre cette éventualité. Réunies au sein du Front National pour la Défense de la Constitution (FNDC), elles organisent des manifestations depuis plusieurs mois pour dénoncer une nouvelle candidature du président Condé. De nouvelles manifestations prévues ce mercredi 05 août ont dû être reportées en raison de la tenue des examens d’entrée au collège.
